I have two LX2 seats. I'm using them in a 94 Miata that I'm building as a double dutty car that I am going to use as a track/AX car as well as a street car. I'm quite tall at 6'3, which makes a challenge to pass the broomstick test from track driving. As far as I know, this seats are the only solution for tall drivers that need to pass broomstick test in a NA/NB Miata, while having a somewhat comfortable seat for the street as well as maintaining the seat rails. The latest revision of the seat which I'm using on the driver side sits literally as low as it gets, with the bottom of the shell almost touching the carpet on the floor of the car. There is no way to have more headroom without dropping the floor plan, not even with aluminum seats.

The build quality of the seats is great, very rigid shell, good upholstering and great fabrication work on the mounts, rails and the rest of the hardware.

The solution to mount and remove the cushions is great and simple and helps gaining for headroom if needed.

Also kudos to the Marrad customer service. Even in the middle of the COVID pandemic with all of the supply shortages involved, Mark did a great good keep me updated and giving realistic delivery dates.

All in all great experience, cannot recommend this seat enough!

I just installed my new seat, everything lined up just fine the first time. The outside shoulder bolster rubs on the seatbelt tower a little when the seat is all the way back (where I need it), but nothing too serious. Clears my roll bar, and when I pull the cushions out I now fit under the broomstick with a helmet on (6’-1” / 275lbs). The car is always going to be a tight fit for me, but this seat really does make a difference. Seat looks great, even with the cloth cover. Would absolutely recommend to anyone. My only gripe is that the lap belt receptacle bolt hole (while located perfectly) is just a little too small for the factory bolt; nothing a drill (or a slightly smaller grade-8 bolt/nut) can’t solve. Thanks for the hard work and great product!
